As expected, the Internet is a magical place full of information, but as everything has its dark side. There are all kinds of levels, from mild to very serious, although most of the time they have a corresponding penalty. Below you can see some examples and what they are about.

  • CYBER BULLYING:

One of the dangers of the Internet is cyber bullying. Many people create fake social media profiles to anonymously threaten and harass a specific person. Victims of cyber bullying face psychological problems that interfere with their daily lives (work, school, etc.) In most cases, victims of cyber bullying have low self-esteem and, in more dramatic cases, have suicidal tendencies. Cyberbullying makes the victim more vulnerable, since the victimizer can attack from anywhere and at any time.

  • IDENTITY THEFT:

The Internet is a place where excessive information crossing prevails, but we must be very careful with our data because our personal information can be easily stolen by cyber criminals. On thousands of occasions, the cyber police have faced cases in which identity theft consists of creating false accounts on social networks with the public information of some user. In this way, criminals make use of personal data through false accounts for pornographic purposes. It is another of the biggest dangers on the Internet.

  • SPAM OR GARBAGE MAIL:

Another danger of the Internet is spam. When we talk about electronic spam, we mean spam or junk mail. The fact that an email is classified as spam is because these types of messages are sent in bulk to a large number of recipients. Sometimes, spam can only reduce the advertising that nobody requests, but it can also include malware, which allows the download of a virus that could possibly damage our operating system.

  • HARMFUL INFORMATION:

Initially we commented on the large amount of data that we can find on the Internet, it is also important to emphasize that this information can be harmful because it has susceptible content. Much information on the Internet contains pornography, crimes, terrorist and suicidal acts, etc. Many adults can choose to maintain an analytical stance in the face of these facts, however, children and adolescents are more vulnerable to such information, therefore, we must be especially careful with the use that minors make of the Internet so as not to expose ourselves to the greatest dangers on the Internet.

  • PIRACY:

Piracy is the act of illegally plagiarizing or downloading copyrighted material. On the Internet the world of piracy is quite large, there is plagiarism of literary, musical, cinematographic works, etc. The money lost by the authors of such content is immense, year after year, piracy is one of the greatest dangers of the Internet that continues to rise and the economic losses are endless.

  • PORNOGRAPHY:

Pornography is one of the industries that reports the most income annually worldwide. The easy access to the Internet causes minors to be affected by this erotic content, which can harm their mental health, since they are not mature enough to understand the sexual aspects of pornographic material, this immaturity can provoke in children a misconception about what sex is. The most common problems that come from viewing pornography at a young age and without sex education are the inability to have emotionally healthy relationships, chronic masturbation, psychological problems and addiction to pornography. To avoid this great danger of the Internet, it is necessary to talk to children and adolescents to give them a correct sexual education.

  • SEXTING:

From the previous point among the dangers of the internet, we can also derive the point that refers to the «sexting» word that is formed from «sex» and «texting» and that refers to the messages of sexual content that we can send and receive through social networks or the internet. When this occurs between adults, it may only have to do with the privacy of the people who participate in it, but when it has to do with young people or adolescents, it can become a real problem, mainly because they may not know who are exchanging those messages and because their lives can also be marked forever if they misuse it.

  • FAKE NEWS:

Have you ever entered a web page and seen the caption: «Congratulations, you have won 1 million euros»? Internet is a very easy way to reach many people, some people use these ads to steal information from bank accounts or Paypal. Millions of people in the world have been victims of these scammers who use false advertisements to obtain true data from naive people who are surprised. This is one of the biggest dangers on the Internet.
